Candidates are recommended to gather more than the minimum number of signatures required for the office they are seeking, and that the last day of filing will likely include a lengthy wait.

Candidates can file from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at the Office of the County Clerk, Elections Division, at 25 Aupuni St., Suite 1502, in Hilo. Or, from 7:45 to 3 p.m. weekdays by appointment at the Kona Elections Division at the West Hawaii Civic Center, Building B, second floor.

The 2014 elections will feature 105 contests statewide. The primary election is on August 9. Early voting begins July 28. For more information about running for office and the latest candidate filing report, go to hawaii.gov/elections.
